Lunch has a special problem: you decide it in a hurry, often while hungry, and sometimes by committee. That’s how the same sandwich ends up in your bag every day, or how a group of six spends twenty minutes of a short break choosing a place. The lunch wheel takes the decision off your plate. It opens with eight real lunch dishes, so you can spin the moment you arrive.
Group lunch decisions stall because everyone says “I don’t mind” and then vetoes the first three ideas. Lunch roulette works better when you collect limits instead of preferences:
If your team already has favorite spots, put their names on the random restaurant picker instead; its winner comes with an Open in Maps button.
The Lunch Generator tab is a lunch idea generator and a “what should I eat for lunch” randomizer in one. Set Ready in, Cuisine and Diet, open More filters for Spice, How many, Gluten-free only and No repeats, then press Pick my lunch. The Space key picks again. When a few ideas look good, Spin my picks on the wheel puts your shortlist on the lunch wheel for the final call. It runs on our random food generator, with Lunch already selected.
Not every great lunch survives four hours in a bag, so ask one question about the winner: will this still taste good at noon?
Cooking a little extra at night helps; the random dinner generator can suggest dinners that double as tomorrow’s lunch. Our guide on what to eat for lunch has more ideas. Diet labels describe traditional recipes, so check ingredients if allergies are involved.

Start with where you'll be eating. At a desk, pick something that holds up at room temperature, like Tortilla Espanola or a Caprese Salad. At home with ten minutes, try Quesadillas or a Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Going out, choose a dish you can't easily make yourself, such as Lahmacun or a Lobster Roll. Or just press SPIN.
Have everyone add one option, or press Fill with random dishes after setting the strictest diet on the Lunch Generator tab. Press Copy wheel link and paste it into your team chat so everyone sees the same wheel. Agree before the spin that the result is final. That's lunch roulette, with equal odds for every slice.
Yes — fill the wheel, spin, and keep the picks that travel well: the best packed lunches taste good cold or reheat well. Rice-and-lentil dishes like Daal Chawal or Rajma Chawal often taste even better the next day. Sturdy salads like Salade Nicoise, handheld bakes like Spanakopita or Cornish Pasty, and soups like Minestrone in a thermos are reliable. Fried foods lose their crunch by noon.
Yes. On the Lunch Generator tab, set Ready in to 20 min or less and check the time on each card. Lunches around 10 minutes include Quesadillas, Caprese Salad, a Ploughman's Lunch, a French Jambon-Beurre and a Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Press Fill with random dishes to put quick lunches on the wheel and spin.
